- Step one is to pick a suitable name that adheres to Missouri state law. The name cannot violate any trademark or contain the terms "incorporated", "corporation", or "limited partnership", nor any abbreviations of such words. You are not allowed to use a name already occupied by another LLC and you must of course follow trademark law. The name you chose must contain an LLC identifier, e.g. “Ltd Liability Co” or “LLC”.
